It was a cool, rainy,sloppy, muddy day at Hampshire HS. Despite the poor conditions Daniel Beavers was able to hold off 2 runners from Somerset PA for the win on a shortened course- his time was 16:16. Jessie Hogbin ran 19:11 placing 3rd behind top ranked runners from Jefferson Abby Colbert and Hampshire's Hannah Lipps.

Senior Daniel Beavers finished his last race on his home course in a dominating way running a very fast time of 16:25 ahead of a pack of Musselman runners. Jessie Hogbin also ran thru the tape in 1st place with a time of 19:20.

Big Springs is the largest race we will attend this season hosting over 50 schools from NY, PA, MD, WV and VA. Our lead runners did not let this affect their races. Jessie Hogbin was 8th overall in the girls AAA varsity race and Daniel Beavers was 5th overall in the varsity boys AAA race. Several runners ran in the jv race so both teams were incomplete.

In a preview of the Berkeley County meet all 4 schools raced on Spring Mills fast course on Wed 9/16. Again Jessie Hogbin and Daniel Beavers handily won their races. Maddy Brown was the # 2 finisher in the girls race. Both teams places 3rd out of the 4 schools.

In a downpour of rain on a slick, muddy course Hedgesville's top male and female runner still placed well at the Judges Classic. Both Daniel Beavers and Jessie Hogbin each placed 4th in a field of well over 100 runners from mostly Virginia schools. It was also the first race for several of our runners who started the season later or had been injured.

Jessie Hogbin was the 1st place finisher in a race featuring over 100 runners from  20 schools in both Maryland and West Virginia. Her winning time was 19:40, another team course record. Maddy Brown, Sarah Brown,  Anna Berwanger, and Breanna West competed for the girls. Daniel Beavers placed 6th in the large schools race with a time of 17:08  also breaking the team course record. Sebastien and Nicolas Morel and Scott Long also ran. Both teams were incomplete as several underclassman ran in the JV races.

Daniel Beavers raced his home course for the 1st time in 3 seasons Wednesday. It was a hard fought win over Jefferson's Dylan Stampler and Spring Mills Travis Huffman. His win set a new team course record at 17:03. Five guys ran varsity placing 3/4 schools. Jessie Hogbin placed 2nd behind state champion Abby Colbert with a time of 20:31.  She also set a new team course record. The girls placed 2/4 edging out the Cardinals for 2nd place.

Senior Daniel Beavers set a new course record easily winning the first race of the year at Sam Michaels Park as Jefferson hosted a meet with the 6 EPAC schools. New runner Sebastien Morel placed 13th. For the ladies, Jessie Hogbin came in second to state champion Abby Colbery from Jefferson. Maddy Brown placed 8th. Boys team was 4/6, girls were 3/6.

Clear Spring, Md. Jessie Hogbin won the Interstate Classic Invitational which consisted of 20 large and small  schools from both Maryland and West Virginia. Her winning time of 19:40 is a new team course record. This was her 1st individual win of the season. Daniel Beavers placed 9th in the varsity boys race with a time of 17:08 also setting  a team course record. Both teams were incomplete as some of our underclassmen ran in the jv races.
